Owned by the National Trust, the design of the house is a monument to the combined genius of architect Philip Webb and his friend William Morris. Saint Hill Manor - 2.6miles


Reputed to be the finest 18th century sandstone building in Sussex, Saint Hill Manor has had a succession of distinguished owners, each family leaving behind a part of its own unique history. Since 1959, it has been the home of L. Ron Hubbard, acclaimed author and founder of Scientology.


Penshurst Place - 16.5 miles


Penshurst Place is one of England's finest historic houses set in the Weald of Kent's peaceful rural landscape. Originally a medieval and Tudor building, the house has been modified and extended over the centuries and now eight different architectural styles can be seen here.
