Rolling lawns, fabulous follies, woodland, meadows and more - our historic listed garden is a very special spots. Wrapping around our glorious country house hotel, our garden comes to life in the summer months with picnicking, al fresco dining and more. Read on to discover what our secret gardens will offer this summer, and get ready to feel the grass beneath your feet and the sun on your skin.
Please note, for our picnic afternoon teas and garden visits, should the weather be against us you are welcome to take your picnic tea home to enjoy.
Nyetimber Pool Days
From July 31st
From July 31st our heated outdoor pool reopens for the season with a spectacular brand collaboration. Residents and day guests booking in on our 'Pool Days' will enjoy our Nyetimber Pool experience, with luxurious touches throughout, butler-style service, a poolside menu including fresh sushi and of course, plenty of Nyetimber.
The Nyetimber Pool Days
A Day by the Pool - £99
Join us by the 1920s heated outdoor pool at Great Fosters for a day of relaxing, Nyetimber and more. You will have a reserved and ‘naturally’ distanced sun lounger from 10am till 5pm, with towels, robes and slippers for your use and one of our beautiful turquoise Alexander Hotels tote bags to keep along with a L’Occitane kit of poolside essentials.
Soak up the rays on our sun-drenched terrace and take a dip in our beautiful heated pool at your leisure. Your package includes a glass of Nyetimber (which you can enjoy on arrival or with lunch) and lunch taken from our poolside menu including sushi selections. You will enjoy attentive butler style service throughout the day and you’re free to wander the grounds taking in the David Harber sculpture exhibition or to make use of the facilities in the historic main house too.
Pool & Pamper Day - £179
Includes all of the above, plus a 55 minute massage, which our expert therapists will perform in our beautiful Treatment Rooms in the main house.

Al Fresco Dining
From July 4th
Visit our socially-distanced terraces from July 4th to experience fine dining in the most glorious of settings. With views of the Parterres, Japanese bridge, Rose garden and fountain our south-facing terrace couldn't be more idyllic. Accompany that with our superb cuisine, from afternoon tea to our Estate Grill terrace menu and our exceptional service (observing of course all Covid-19 related precautions), where could be better to while away an afternoon...and perhaps the evening too?
Seats are limited and advance booking is recommended.
David Harber Exhibition
Running from July - September 30th, we are delighted to share an enriching and intriguing sculpture exhibition set within our gardens from the renowned artist David Harber. To visit, simply contact us on the details below to book your spot for lunch, tea, a picnic or supper and you can take in the sculptures at your leisure. David has provided a suggested route, carefully considering how the pieces interact with the gardens and each other, reaching the exhibition's denouement as David intended, which you are welcome to take or you can simply explore.
David Harber has been making contemporary and classical artworks from his Oxfordshire studio for over two decades and has gained an impressive following worldwide. He designs and makes original and covetable sculptures, sundials and water features that enchant and endure, whilst responding to customers’ individual needs and environments. Synonymous with elegance and simplicity, his designs playfully incorporate nature, reflection, light and water to create dramatic focal points in both exterior and interior settings.

Garden Strolls & Picnic Lunches
Take a turn of our glorious 55 acres of grounds and pick a spot to settle down for a delightful picnic of afternoon tea treats.
Each fifteen minutes from 11am till 5pm we'll be accepting up to 6 guests at a time for a three-hour visit to our beautiful grounds, with a delicious afternoon tea to enjoy where you settle. Now that we are open, our facilities are available for you to use when you visit. Dogs and little ones very welcome.
